Butterfly World Zoo treats and cares for over 750 animals and birds brought to us by previous owners and conservation authorities to take in. The majority of these animals are exotic creatures who need the hot, humid climate of the tropics. Some are from the savannah and woodlands. And, we even have an arctic fox!
Butterfly World Zoo provides these unique settings that comes with huge costs. We rely entirely on the entrance fees collected at the gate. With no sponsorship or compensation from the state or any other authority, we are often faced with a very thinly sliced cake. Therefore, we appreciate your contribution towards keeping up the high standard of specialised care our animals enjoy.
Our plan is to upgrade and improve the enclosures for Kiki and Bruce, our resident vervet monkeys, the Burmese Pythons, the Anaconda, and the African Grey parrots.
We are also planning an insectarium and a separate display of small Geckos and lizards and a display area that will house indigenous reptiles that are not be able to cope in the wild anymore. As animal ambassadors, they all do their bit to educate and enthuse. Remember, Appreciate, don’t keep wild animals.
